Energy Audits

Energy audits help homeowners discover where and how their homes are using energy inefficiently and what can be done to resolve the issue(s). Several techniques are used to identify the inefficiencies, such as an infrared camera to detect air leaks and areas lacking adequate insulation. A report with the results of the audit and recommendations for improvements are provided to the homeowner.

The City of Bentonville offers free residential energy audits to utility customers that meet eligibility requirements. A certified Building Analyst Professional will review your account consumption history and visit your home to conduct a walk-through inspection. 

Audits are conducted on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. only from October 1st to March 31st. To schedule an audit, call 479-271-3107.

Eligibility Requirements

The following is required to be eligible:

  • Own your home and be present for the audit
  • Property must be serviced by City of Bentonville Utilities
  • Renters can have the owner or property manager request an audit. Property manager must be present for the audit and provide written permission from the property owner
