Bentonville, AR… The City of Bentonville is proud to announce the selection of Debbie Griffin as the Interim Community Relations and Economic Development Director.
In addition to focusing on economic development, Griffin will work with members of the media, develop a digital communication and marketing strategy, and serve as a liaison for Mayor Stephanie Orman for public and private partnerships with the City.
Mayor Orman says, “We are pleased to have someone with proven expertise and experience to help lead Bentonville’s economic development efforts and build a stronger communication strategy to keep our citizens informed.”
A native of Benton County, Griffin is a proven leader with more than 30 years of experience in communication, marketing, project management and team building. Her most recent role was with the Greater Bentonville Area Chamber of Commerce where she served as EVP/Chief Operating Officer. Under her leadership at the Chamber, she grew the Northwest Arkansas Technology Summit to a national event for the region and helped champion technology growth in Northwest Arkansas. Griffin began her career in television broadcasting and then worked for Walmart, Sam’s Club, and Fellowship Bible Church.
Griffin says, “I am excited for this role with the City of Bentonville, and look forward to continuing and building on the economic growth of Bentonville. Northwest Arkansas is my home and I am grateful for the opportunity to serve the community.”
Griffin joined the city staff on July 1, 2019. She lives in Bentonville with her husband, Mark.
