Bentonville, AR... Bentonville Parks & Recreation invite citizens to attend a design reveal meeting for the Quilt of Parks Downtown Public Spaces Master Plan and the Connect Bentonville Bike and Pedestrian Master Plan. This event will take place on Thursday, February 20th from 4:00pm-7:00pm at the Bentonville Community Center, located at 1101 SW Citizens Circle. This is a drop in meeting.
Over the course of the last six months, Bentonville Parks & Recreation has worked alongside multiple design teams, other city departments and the public to create two master plan projects that will lead Bentonville into the next decade.
Citizens will have the opportunity to review the “Quilt of Parks” and Connect Bentonville Master plans. Spaces included in the Quilt of Parks are: Lawrence Plaza, the Downtown Square, Dave Peel Park, Town Branch Park, the Downtown Activity Center, and two new potential parks. The plan will unveil how these spaces can be tied together to increase the connectivity to make them more pedestrian friendly and safe for those visiting downtown Bentonville.
The second project for review that evening is our Connect Bentonville Master Plan. This plan focuses on pedestrian trails and on-street infrastructure throughout our community to better connect Bentonville. These projects have included extensive public input meetings, internal team planning, and stakeholder conversations.
This unique meeting forum will give the public an opportunity to review two project proposals at once. These meetings will take place in two adjoining rooms at the Bentonville Community Center. Between 4pm and 7pm, citizens are encouraged to walk through both rooms, review the plans for each project, and provide any feedback before these projects are taken before city council.
