Bentonville, AR…The City of Bentonville will host a virtual listening session regarding Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) on December 10, 2020 from 6:00 – 7:30pm. This listening session is part of Bentonville Together, announced earlier this year by Mayor Stephanie Orman.
Residents can participate in this public listening session to discuss how to make Bentonville a more welcoming city for all. Bentonville Together began earlier this year with the selection of a community task force, DEI ambassadors, and an advisory board.
This listening session is one of several planned over the next few months to seek input on diversity and inclusion. Bentonville Together will move through three phases of Listen, Learn, and Lead. The listening sessions are facilitated by community residents and inclusive for all. The sessions are designed for participants to feel comfortable and respected while sharing and receiving information.
Residents are required to register for the virtual listening session at https://bit.ly/3mp2GpZ.
Mayor Orman says through Bentonville Together, “The City is hoping to improve understanding of local diverse representation, backgrounds and cultures; identify ways inclusion and equitable approaches may support Bentonville’s community vision; and provide guidance for meaningful and transformative actions with the goal of ensuring the City of Bentonville is welcoming and inclusive of all.”
