Bentonville, Ark – Bentonville Public Library(BPL) celebrated National Library Week, April 3 – 9, by highlighting the amazing aspects of the Library beyond our stacks and stacks of books. In addition, Library Workers Day was April 5 and Library Giving Day was April 6.
Our newest and most exciting feature is Pickup Lockers. Started on April 1, patrons can now place a hold online, in-app, or in-person at the Library and pick up their items at 3 (three) different locations:
- Bentonville Library – Inside the Library and continues as normal during Library hours.
- Community Center – Just past the desk at the entrance and perfect for those across town.
- Outdoor Locker – Right outside Library doors, lockers are open 24/7 with next-day pickup.
Sunday, April 3, we released an eNewsletter displaying our wonderful librarians and our essential Teen Volunteers. The teens star in a delightful video on our YouTube channel. Following that, on Library Workers Day, Friends of the Library provided refreshments for our hardworking full and part-time staff to enjoy all week.
We gave the community an update on the expansion on Wednesday, April 6 with a video featuring Hadi Dudley, Library Director. All updates on the expansion can be found at bentonvillebond.com.
The Bentonville Library Foundation offered an invitation to the community for Library Giving Day informing our generous city about the opportunity to support their local Library.
“Over the years the Bentonville Public Library has GIVEN so much to our community! Now is the time we can all come together as champions of our community library and give back to support BPL. Especially as we are Making Room for More - the capital campaign to expand a community treasure.”
