What is the Power Cost Adjustment (PCA)?

The electric portion of your utility bill includes a line item for the Power Cost Adjustment (PCA). The PCA changes monthly, it is important to understand it is not due to a change in your electric rates, but due to the changing costs of the fuel used to generate the electricity you use that is charged by the Utility’s power provider. These costs are passed through to the customer and the utility does not make additional revenue from the PCA.
