We offer programs that enrich lives while improving aging minds & bodies. Citizens Lounge is a beautiful room designed for all active adults 50+ to come and socialize through conversation and activities. Whether its reading a book, newspaper, sitting down talking with friends by the fireplace, or participating in our specialized programming, seniors can come and feel that the Citizens Lounge will be an extension of their home.
Community Center Senior Focus Fun & Fitness
Senior Fitness Wellness Class
This is a low impact class that includes exercises for the total body in order to improve balance, posture, muscle strength and endurance. Participants will use light resistance equipment with emphasis on correct technique. Exercises will be adapted for individuals as needed. Class is located downstairs in our wellness studio on Tuesday and Thursdays at 7:20am.
Senior Focus Monthly Potluck
Each month we celebrate life by hosting a monthly, themed potluck social for our senior members and guests. Every month brings a new and unique theme. Potlucks meet from 11:30am – 1:00pm, on the designated day in the Citizen’s Lounge of the Bentonville Community Center. The week leading up to the potluck, there will be a list posted in the Citizen’s Lounge for everyone to sign up for their item of choice to bring to the potluck. The monthly potlucks are free to members; guests can purchase a day pass for $5 to attend.
A paddle sport created for all ages and skill levels. The rules are simple and the game is easy for beginners to learn. Pickleball is a fun sport that combines many elements of tennis, badminton, and ping pong. This game is played with a paddle and a plastic ball on a badminton sized court with a slightly modified tennis net. Pickleball takes place in our gymnasium on Tuesday's and Thursdays from 8:30am-10:00am.
Walking for Wellness
Looking to get up and get active but don't know how to start? Enjoy a refreshing walk with your friends at the Community Center! Research has shown that walking serves as a "magic pill" for excellent health. There are many benfits to walking that maintain the body's systems in good condition including: improved circulation, weight loss, strengthened muscles, improved sleep, reduced risk of chronic illness, and long life expectancy. While fewer than 50% of Americans meet the minimum guidelines for moderate physical activity, Bentonville Parks & Recreation offers you the easiest solution to correct this problem. Grab your favorite pair of walking shoes and join in on the fun! Class is offered on Monday & Wednesday at 10:30-11:15am. Class meets on the Indoor Track.
We have a competitive pool and a Leisure Pool. Both located downstairs at the bottom of the steps through the door labeled Natatorium. Competitve pool is kept at 82 degrees and leisure pool is 86 degrees.

Balance and Fall Prevention Class
Reduce your risk for falls and loss of independence with this class that focuses on balance, agility, and strength. Class offered on Tuesday mornings in the Citizens Lounge. Class is offered on Tuesday morning in the Citizens Lounge from 10:30-11:00am.
Limber & Stretch
This is primarily a chair exercise class designed for the older adult or individual who may have some functional limitations. Format will include flexibility, relaxation, and balance components. Light resistance equipment used include, stretch bands and small balls. Join this class to put the "FUN" into Function! Class is offered on Thursday morning in the Citizens Loung from 10:30-11:00am.
Active Aging and Wellness Programs
Beth Crane, our certified, older adult specialist is a Cooper Institue certified personal trainer, has a Senior Fitness Specialty Certification through the American Council on Exercise, and is an AEA Aquatic FItness Professional. Beth holds a Masters' degree in Education with emphasis in Health from the University of Arkansas.
Active Aging Personal Training
Personal Training for older adults 50+ years of age. Patrons will participate in exercise programming designed to meet their individual needs and goals. Emphasis on programming is to maintain an independent lifestyle while growing older. Personal training sessions are available in 30 and 60 minute appointments.
Senior Functional Fitness Assessment
Take these simple fitness test items in order to measure key physical abilities needed to perform common everyday activities. Program specificially designed for older adults that have not consistently participated in a regular exercise program 2-3 days for the past 3 months. Advance registration is required which includes pre-screening paperwork.
Fee: $20 member/ $25 non-members
