The primary objectives of the Electrical Utilities Department are to provide and maintain safe, low cost, reliable and efficient electrical power to our customers and citizens, to be responsive to electrical emergencies and outages, and to represent the City of Bentonville to the fullest of our abilities. In addition, the Electrical Utilities Department supports community development by providing technical advice and expertise to customers and citizens regarding their electrical needs.

The Electrical Utilities Department's electrical system contains 8 distribution substations, a transmission switch station, 11 miles of transmission lines and 126 miles of distribution lines. In the construction and maintaining of this system, the Electrical Utilities Department provides engineering and design, overhead and underground line construction, substation and metering expertise and powerline easement tree trimming and removal.
