Probation Officer/Bailiff
SALARY LEVEL:

JOB LOCATION and/or CITY DEPARTMENT
District Court
BRIEF JOB SUMMARY:
Monitor
compliance of assigned probationers with orders of the Court. Investigate and
document required information for pre-sentence reports. Communicate with
probationers outside of Court hours, and with Sheriff’s Department to monitor
work release prisoners. Coordinate with Court Clerks to set hearings for
noncompliant probationers. Collect probation fees. Be present at all Court
sessions to attend to the physical security of persons in the Courtroom,
maintain custody of defendants and of physical evidence, administer oaths to
witnesses, act as usher of officials and other persons appearing in Court,
coordinate activities of Court Clerks and Judge in Courtroom, and other duties
as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
H.S.
diploma or GED. AR Law Enforcement Training Acadamy (ALETA) Certified
Preferred. Related experience preferred.

Systems Technician
SALARY LEVEL:

I.S. / City Hall
BRIEF JOB SUMMARY:
Serves as team member in the Computer Systems Group.
Performs technical and specialized work in the installation, diagnosis, testing,
and maintenance of the City’s personal computers, terminals, printers, and data
communications and telecommunications equipment. Provides technical assistance
to City employees who use such equipment. Maintains all related records and
inventories.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
High School diploma or equivalent. Requires combination of
education and experience sufficient to perform all required duties at fully
competent level, including college level courses in the computer field or
related experience, and good organizational skills. Must be able to communicate
clearly and concisely in logical, organized manner, and to work harmoniously and
effectively with users. Also requires valid Arkansas Driver’s License.

Powerline Electrician
SALARY LEVEL:

Electric
BRIEF JOB SUMMARY:
Performs
skilled technical construction and maintenance work on overhead and underground
high-voltage electrical distribution systems.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
High school
diploma or GED; completion of four-year apprentice program, and completion of
hot line schools and seminars. Knowledge of the methods, practices, tools and
equipment of power line construction, maintenance and repair, and of electricity
as applied to distribution systems. Ability to train and supervise Apprentice
Powerline Electricians and Electric Groundworkers. Must be able to work at
moderate heights and climb poles, work under adverse weather conditions, and
work with high and low voltage. Must possess valid CDL and be able/willing to
work “On Call”.

Telecommunicator

BRIEF JOB SUMMARY:
Duties
include operating and monitoring radio dispatch, telephone and computers
systems; receiving, logging and dispatching calls to appropriate personnel.
Eight-hour set shifts (days, evenings, nights) with rotating days off. This is a
“Night Shift” position working either 2:00PM - 10:00PM or 10:00PM – 6:00AM T.D.B.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
High School
diploma or equivalent, the ability to make decisions quickly under pressure, to
successfully handle multiple tasks simultaneously, with good communications and
computer skills.

Parks Director
SALARY LEVEL:

BRIEF JOB SUMMARY:
Duties include planning,
promoting, organizing, and administering all public recreation services for the
City. Evaluates effectiveness of recreation areas, facilities, and services and
develops immediate and long-range plans to meet recreational needs of all age
groups. Prepares budget and directs expenditure of department funds. Serves as
technical adviser to City and as recreation consultant to community.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Requires
B.A. degree recreation management or related field and direct management
experience in recreation management.
