The Bentonville Fire Department is a professional organization consisting of career and part time fire fighters, emergency medical technicians, paramedics, and special technical response personnel who are joined as one department, and motivated for the purpose of protecting the citizens and visitors of the City of Bentonville, and their property, from the ravages of uncontrolled fire, medical and environmental emergencies, and any other emergency for which a person has need for rescue or assistance.

Hiring Process

The hiring process for both career and part-paid positions is the same and involves passing a standardized written exam.  Those who pass the written exam are invited to go through the physical agility exam, click here to view some of our physical testing photos. 

Once a position becomes available, the Fire Chief will interview eligible candidates.  After a job offer is made, the successful candidate will then be required to pass a firefighter physical exam and drug screen as performed by the clinic contracted by the city to perform the exams.

 
NOTE:  Entry level testing occurs twice a year.
