This is a 2004 fire that burned 11 neighborhood yards. |
 |
On Friday, Feb. 3, 2006, at about 7:00 in the morning, flames and smoke
were seen on arrival of fire crews at the new Lowe's store on N. Walton
Blvd. The fire was above the sprinkler system which did activate one
sprinkler head and cooled merchandise below preventing it from igniting
from radiant heat. C shift Battalion Chief Larry Horton ordered the
aerial raised on Truck 1 for a quick extinguishment of the roof fire
with the ladder pipe. Crews then opened up the roof to check for
extension. Automatic mutual aid was received from the Bella Vista Fire
Department.
