Artwork Being Installed on South Walton
Trail Tunnel this Weekend
Bentonville, AR…The Public Art Advisory Committee (PAAC) for the City of Bentonville is launching its Tunnel Vision initiative. Tunnel Vision is the installation of public art in the bicycle and pedestrian tunnels along the Bentonville Trail System with the theme of “Walk/Bike/Run/Play.” Two of 12 proposals submitted were selected by the PAAC and are being installed in October. Visit Bentonville is funding the project.
The first piece is being installed this weekend. Artists Joann Lacey and Eric Williams will be painting their artwork titled “Aura Activity” starting this Friday, Sep. 30 through Sunday, Oct. 2, in the tunnel along the Razorback Greenway that travels under South Walton Boulevard. Caution signs will be placed near the entrance of the tunnel. Trail users are requested to slow down and enter the tunnel with caution for the safety of the artists and other trail users.
The second piece will be installed Friday, October 14. Amanda Willshire will install her artwork titled “Always a Pupil” in the tunnel located on the North Walton Trail that travels under North Walton Boulevard.
Please safely enjoy the Bentonville Trail System and visit the new public artwork in the trail tunnels.
