Bentonville, AR…Bentonville Parks and Recreation is thrilled to announce the Grand Opening of the Bentonville Community Center this Saturday, June 6th. According to Parks and Recreation Director David Wright, “The Bentonville Community Center allows our department to be more comprehensive and diverse in the programs we offer. We can now offer recreational, aquatic and fitness programming twelve months per year. I hope our community finds the Community Center to be a fun place for the entire family.” 

We invite the public to join us for a day to celebrate the completion of the Epicenter of Fun!

Schedule of Events

The Grand Opening Celebration will kick off at 11:00am with live music, food, and inflatables outside of the facility. At noon, the official opening ceremony and ribbon cutting will take place. Throughout the day, Bentonville Parks and Recreation will provide a look at the different recreational, aquatic and fitness programming offered at the Community Center. This includes a swim meet hosted by the NWAA Sharks, fitness classes, musical performances and theatrical performance presented by the Classical Edge Theatre Company. The family leisure pool will open to members at 3:00pm. Non-Members will have the opportunity to purchase their membership or a day pass ($5 for residents/$6 for non-residents) on Saturday. The Community Center is located at 1101 SW Citizens Circle.

Facility Information

The Bentonville Community Center is an 84,000 square foot facility designed to serve residents of all ages and interests. The zero depth entry family leisure pool features several water slides, an adventure river, play structures, and lap swim lanes.  A pool party room is available for reservations.  The Aquatic Center also includes a 25x25 competitive pool with 8 lap swim lanes and 3 diving boards. This pool will host swim & dive meets for teams including the Bentonville Parks & Recreation Swim Team, Bentonville & Bentonville West High School, and the NWAA Sharks. The Bentonville Community Center also features a fitness center with over 45 pieces of cardio equipment as well as state of the art TechnoGym strength equipment. Over 60 classes are hosted in our dance/aerobics studio each week.

Additionally, the 6,315 square foot community room provides the perfect space to host any event. The room includes a stage, dance floor, and catering kitchen, making it ideal for a wedding reception or a family reunion. Available for reservations, this room can be divided into three separate rooms, creating a great place for a meeting or small group gathering.

Other amenities include a gymnasium, indoor running track, arts & craft room, Kids Center, a senior activity area, lounge and more. The facility is located in the 35 acre Citizens Park, which includes multi-purpose sports fields and an amphitheater.

Funding


The final construction cost for the Bentonville Community Center is $16,381,594. Funding for this project came from multiple sources. The project was funded in part by the bond referendum approved by taxpayers in 2007; parks and recreation impact fees, and general sales tax revenue. In addition, this project includes many partners who contributed significant funding. See list below of outside funding:

Membership Information

There are several membership options available for purchase at the Community Center including annual, monthly, and multiple admission passes. Daily passes are also available for purchase. Your membership with the Community Center includes unlimited access to facilities and wellness classes at the Community Center, Downtown Activity Center, and Melvin Ford Aquatic Center.
