City of Bentonville Launches New GIS Site
Posted: June 16 2014
The City of Bentonville is excited to announce that a new geographic information system (GIS) will launch at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, June 17, 2014. The new Geocortex software will work on mobile devices as well as on Macintosh machines and multiple web browsers. This conversion will make the GIS information more accessible to all users.
With the launch of the new site, the old site will be removed. If users have saved the old site to their favorites, they will need to visit www.bentonvillear.com and click on the GIS icon after 8 a.m. on Tuesday, June 17 to save the new link to their favorites.
Jim Wheeless, GIS coordinator will be offering a free training course on the new site on Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at 1 p.m. in the training room at Fire Station #1 located at 800 SW A St. The course is free and no registration is required. This training is open to anyone interested in learning more about the new system. The training should last approximately 1 hour.
