Economic Development Strategic Plan, “Bentonville Blueprint”

Bentonville, AR – October 15, 2014…Mayor Bob McCaslin is pleased to announce the unveiling of Bentonville’s economic development strategic plan, the Bentonville Blueprint.
In May 2013, the City of Bentonville launched the development of the Bentonville Blueprint, a strategic plan for economic development to guide the city over the next five years. Boyette Strategic Advisors, an economic development consulting firm with offices in Little Rock, AR Atlanta, GA, and Orlando, FL has guided the effort to develop the plan.
The development of the Bentonville Blueprint was, and will continue to be, driven by the visions of Bentonville’s leaders, residents and stakeholders. The plan includes significant stakeholder input, identification of targeted business sectors, and strategic priorities designed to position Bentonville for continued economic development success.
There are eight target sector opportunities: digital media; transportation/warehousing; light advanced manufacturing; hospitality, culture/entertainment; specialty retail; regional supplier offices, and retail technologies.
Additionally, there are eight strategic priorities: delivery system; art/culture; business retention; education/workforce; entrepreneurship/innovation; marketing/communication; product development, and sustainability.
The Bentonville Blueprint unveiling is Thursday, October 16, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. in the Walmart Room of the Bentonville Public Library located at 405 S. Main Street, Bentonville, AR 72712. The meeting is open to the public.
Starting on Wednesday, October 22nd, the plan will be available for viewing and download on the City of Bentonville’s website at http://www.bentonvillear.com/departments/Economic-development.
