THE 7TH ANNUAL RUN BENTONVILLE HALF MARATHON

Bentonville, AR - April 1, 2017…Now in its seventh year, The Run Bentonville Half Marathon presented by The Walmart Museum continues to be Northwest Arkansas’ Premiere Running Event. The event has grown to include over 3,000 participants. Races include a half marathon, half marathon relay, and 5k.

On Friday, March 31st the public is welcome to join us at The Record in Downtown Bentonville, located at 104 SW A Street, for the Health & Wellness Expo presented by Aquaphor. Along with packet pick-up for our races, the Expo will feature several vendors in the health and wellness space, live music, and food trucks. Expo hours are 10:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m.

The RunBentonville Half Marathon will begin at 7:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 1st. Road closures will include 2nd St, NE A St., and a section of the northbound lane on Walton will begin around 6:30 a.m. Those traveling on these roads can expect a slight delay. Other road closures along the course will be on a rolling schedule and can be expected to be reopened as soon as runners are clear. The half marathon will start just off of the Bentonville Downtown Square, on Central. The 5k will also begin at 7:00 a.m. on Main St. All races finish on the Downtown Square in front of the historic Walton Five and Dime.

As runners make their 13.1 mile trek around Bentonville, the Downtown Square will begin the celebration with concessions and fun for family members and spectators to partake in. This will also include live music from The Fayetteville Funk Factory. “This is always a weekend that we look forward to all year long. It’s all about celebrating the commitment and hard work our participants have put in for months prior to race day,” says David Wright, director of Bentonville Parks and Recreation.
