Capital Projects
In 2007, Bentonville voters approved a $15 million bond to improve and expand city
park facilities. This page provides an update on how those funds are being
expended with status reports on current capital projects.
As of July 2009, the City has expended nearly $2 of the $15 million bond with new playground equipment, resurfacing
the pool at Melvin Ford Aquatic Center, and purchasing additional park lands,
including the land for Gilmore Park.
Gilmore Park
Gilmore Park is located at 503 SW D Street on the southeast corner of NW 5thand NW D St. Located adjacent
to the downtown trail, it will serve as a one acre neighborhood park with playground equipment, a half
basketball court, picnic tables, and exercise equipment. The park name is derived from the name of the
subdivision when originally established in 1926.
