The park was named after Ernest G. Lawrence, who
served as Bentonville's Mayor from 1970 to 1974. Mr. Lawrence was a
founding board member of the Helen Walton Children's Enrichment Center and the
Peel House Foundation. He also served on the Bentonville School Board and
was a member of the Bentonville Rotary Club.
This 7000 square foot multi-use facility is a Splash Pad during the summer
months and an outdoor Ice Rink in the Winter.
The splash pad is
an interactive water park that features more than 80 fountain jets, and is for
people of all ages. When in season, this public fun spot operates 7 days a
week from 9:00AM to 10:00PM, with the exception of the first Friday of each month,
(see First Friday details below.)
The Splash Park is a free entertainment facility, for the entire
community. Though the park itself can not be reserved for private parties,
there are covered tables with bench style
seats, that you may reserve for a birthday party. However a 2 hour limit
does apply. An online reservation process will become available soon,
please visit us again for details.
FIRST FRIDAY / FRIDAY NIGHT FLICKS
The splash park will close at 4:00 PM on the first Friday of each month for the
Parks & Recreation "First Friday Flicks" event that runs through October.
The Bentonville Parks & Recreation department will host a family
friendly movie on our 25 foot inflatable outdoor screen at Lawrence Plaza.
This event will be in conjunction with the First Friday events on the Bentonville
Square and will begin at 8:00PM. The 2012 "Friday Night Flicks" schedule will become available soon, please visit
us again for movie details & schedule.
Watch for Ice Rink details to be posted late Fall.
