Police Department

Welcome to Bentonville,

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you and your family to Bentonville. It has been said that the first impression is a lasting one and I hope ours is a good and lasting one.

Bentonville has a few ordinances which might be a little different from what you are accustomed to, and you may wish to contact us about these or other ordinances.

1. We have a Dog Ordinance which requires you to keep your dog chained, fenced, or indoors at all times. Dogs found roaming will be picked up and placed in the pound and fines assessed.

2. We have a home sale permit, which prohibits home (garage, yard) sales over three days duration, and limits sales on the same premises to only two a year. Other information may be obtained from the City Hall or your Police Department.

3. Parking in the downtown area is limited to two hours. Periodic checks are made and tickets issued to violators. The restricted areas are marked by signs. There are free public long-term parking lots available throughout downtown.

If at any time we can be of service to you, please do not hesitate to call, no matter how minor it may seem. Our service is 24 hours a day.

I shall be looking forward to meeting you.

Sincerely,

James H. Allen
Chief of Police
