The City of Bentonville provides electric, domestic water, irrigation water, wastewater and solid waste services to more than 20,500 customers within the City's service area.
The Electrical Utilities Department's electrical system contains 8 distribution substations, a transmission switch station, 11 miles of transmission lines and 126 miles of distribution lines.
The Water Utilities Department operates and maintains our water distribution system and sewer collection system. Bentonville purchases its water from Beaver Water District which obtains and disinfects the water from Beaver Lake.
The Wastewater Utilities Department is responsible for operating and maintaining a 4 million gallon a day activated sludge, extended aeration wastewater treatment facility and 56 lift stations. The Wastewater Department also operates and maintains the Bentonville Composting Facility located at 2000 N.W. “A” Street. The composting facility converts biosolids and wood waste products into a class “A” compost for sale to the public.
The Billing and Collections Department establishes new utility accounts, terminates existing utility accounts, read meters, creates bills and processes payments for the utility departments.
