Bike & Pedestrian Master Plan

The Play Bentonville Plan stated one of the top recreational priorities for our city is an overall trail and bicycle network. Many citizens, during the open input sessions, spoke of how they love the trail system in east and north Bentonville, but the overall system seemed incomplete because of the lack of presence in west Bentonville. The plan spoke of the need of an overall looped and connected system, but emphasized the need for an updated Trails and Pedestrian Plan.  In addition, the announcement of the new Walmart Campus has city officials working with the planning team from Walmart about how the campus is connected to the community.

These two factors stresses the need for our city to think long-term about how people maneuver through alternative methods of transportation. Ensuring that strong connectivity is in place ensures the long-term success of a safe and functional cycling network.
