Crews have been cleaning vegetative debris from major public streets. Since the storm, city crews and residents have picked up over 30,000 cubic yards of debris to date. For reference, one cubic yard is roughly the size of a washing machine! We are now shifting our efforts to clean up along local roads and in neighborhoods. Be sure your vegetative debris is located curbside and separated from non-vegetative materials.
The city is currently accepting bids to hire a contractor to help with debris removal. The bid will ensure we have an accountable removal company that can handle a variety of specific needs for the city and all the FEMA reimbursement requirements to be fiscally responsible for taxpayers. The bid can be found at https://bit.ly/3XaUXRp.
To dispose of vegetative debris yourself, drop off at the compost facility at 2000 NW A Street continues to be open from 7 am to 7 pm for Bentonville residents – proof of id and utility bill required. The City of Bentonville is fortunate to have the Compost facility centrally located with the ability to take and grind the debris in the capacity it has. This operation has saved time and operated in an extremely efficient manner for vegetative debris disposal of this magnitude.
Thank you for your patience as we work through community recovery efforts.
