Groundbreaking Event: Razorback Greenway Relocation Project
Bentonville, AR……. Bentonville Parks and Recreation is pleased to announce the start of a Razorback Greenway relocation project beginning near mile marker 32.2. This section of the Razorback Greenway is a highly traveled thoroughfare every day, connecting residents and visitors from Bella Vista and Bentonville to Rogers and all points south.
The original route took cyclists and pedestrians onto P Street to reach Highway 102 from Bentonville High School. The new project will provide a safe and accessible trail from Bentonville High School to the Walmart Campus, with a tunnel under Highway 102.
The much-anticipated trail is primarily funded by a grant from the Arkansas Department of Transportation, with the balance funded by the city’s Capital Improvement Fund. The tunnel is a separate, privately funded project. NEC-Contractors and CEI Engineering Associates, Inc. will be instrumental in completing the trail work.
The public is invited to attend a groundbreaking event on Friday, July 25, at 12pm, to officially signal the start of the trail relocation construction. In collaboration with Bentonville Moves Coalition, there will be music, refreshments, and a brief presentation.
Please note: This section of trail is positioned behind the Arend Arts Center on the Bentonville High School campus – 1801 SE J Street. It is visible from 18th Street and P Street.
