Evidence and Property

Property Release

The Property & Evidence Unit are charged with not only managing evidence, but personal property of persons that end up in the custody of the police department. This can include found property as well as personal items of arrestees. If personal property of an arrestee is held at the police department, the arrestee has 30 days from date of arrest to retrieve the property. If the incarcerated person is in custody more than 30 days for the arrest, the police department will hold the property for an additional 30 days after release. If items are unclaimed the police department will authorize the disposal of these items.

Property that is evidence of a violation of law will not be released.

To obtain your property, an appointment will need to be made with a member of the Property & Evidence Unit. Appointments will occur Monday-Friday between the hours of 8:00 am – 4:00 pm. Only members of the Property & Evidence Unit can access the secure facility.
