Are you looking for a fun, active, and rewarding summer job? Lifeguarding would be perfect for you! In Lifeguard training, you will learn water safety skills, first aid, CPR, and great leadership development.
Class Requirements:
- Must be 15 years old before the last day of the course
- Blending learning course: Approximately 6 hours of online coursework must be completed before the first in-person session. The in-person classwork and skills sessions will be 21 hours.
- On completion of the course and successful testing, you will hold a certification in Lifeguarding, CPR, and First Aid which is good for 2 years.
Prerequisite Swimming Requirements:
- 200 yard swim/tread using front crawl and breaststroke. This swim will consist of swimming 150 yards, stopping to tread water for 2 minutes using only your legs, then swimming 50 yards. *using goggles is permitted
- Complete a timed swim involving swimming 20 yards, performing a 7-10 dive (feet first or head first) to retrieve 10 pound brick, return to the surface, and swim 20 yards carrying the brick across the chest with both hands while swimming on your back. *goggles are not permitted
- Prerequisite Swimming Requirements will be completed at the 1st in-person meeting of your course.
